Yahoo Mail outage also took down BT, Sky and TalkTalk email

Yahoo restored its email service after a seven-hour outage that prevented users from sending or receiving messages.

The disruption also affected BT, Sky and TalkTalk customers who all use Yahoo Mail to run their email services.

The problems apparently began yesterday around 7:00 am and lasted until at least 2:30 pm when Yahoo announced that most issues had been resolved.

“Most services are back online,” it said in a tweet. “This is a technical problem that affects our services. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we put everything back into operation. ”

Three hours later, the BT and Sky customer teams announced that the problem was resolved

“Yahoo !, the support teams have confirmed that the service has been restored,” Sky said. “Customers can now access their Sky Yahoo! e-mail account.”

“Yahoo has confirmed that most services are back online,” BT added. “We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience while your e-mail address at BT Yahoo returns to normal.”

Yahoo was one of the pioneers of the World Wide Web, but its popularity has dropped significantly in the last decade and it was bought by Verizon in 2017. However, the mail service is still dealing with millions of users who will be affected by this outage.
