Patient fans, who have recently seen a livestream for Pokémon Sword and Shield, have been rewarded with the unveiling of a brand new Pokémon from the Galar region, the UK-inspired venue for the next generation of games.
As the new Pokémon drew spectators with galloping noises and a few covert glances, it strode briefly across the screen, and just before the torrent came to an end, two of the new Pokémon appeared together. And they seemed to be Galatian variants of Ponyta, one of the original 150 Pokémon.
The stream had no accompanying text or commentary to confirm that this is definitely the case, but it is the most likely explanation.
Galarian Unicorn Attack
As far as we can see, the Galatian version of the fire-typical horse Pokémon has the shape of a unicorn, which fits well with the British theme of Sword and Shield's world. Instead of being fiery, the mane of the Galar region Ponyta is pastel-colored and fluffy like cotton candy.
The mythical appearance of the new Pokémon and the fact that it was discovered in newly confirmed Glimwood Tangle, a place apparently inspired by the glades of the fairies, suggests that it may or may not be a fairy type It has been confirmed by The Pokémon Company and Game Freak.
This new Galaric variant was not the only Pokémon to appear in the stream – others, including Impidimp, Pikachu, Phantump and Morellul, as well as Shiiinotic, confirmed their presence in Sword and Shield when the games were released on November 15.
According to the official page of the livestream, Pokémon researcher Sonia collects reports to compile a summary. We can imagine learning more about this new unicorn Pokémon when The Pokémon Company updates its website soon with a kind of research report.
