New Microsoft Surface device powered by Intel Ice Lake could be coming soon

Microsoft may be preparing to release a new Surface device powered by Intel's upcoming Ice Lake processors.

Found by Windows The latest Geekbench results seem to show that a Surface Pro or Surface laptop named "OEMJL OEMJL Product Name EV1.5A" runs on an Intel Core i5-1035G1 10th generation processor at 3.60 GHz becomes.

Microsoft previously used a similar naming convention for its Surface Go product on Geekbench, which is why some people believe that this could be a new Surface device.

Ready for the event on 2 October?

If the benchmark results indicate a new Surface device, we will most likely see it at the Microsoft event on October 2, which we will attend, of course.

We do not know much about Microsoft's plans for October 2nd. However, it's been a whole year since Microsoft introduced new Surface hardware and two years since Surface Book 2 was released.

That said, it's high time that Microsoft announced a new Surface product. In this case, hopefully the latest Ice Lake hardware from Intel will be used, significantly improving performance over previous Surface devices.

Luckily, we will not have to figure it out for long, and whatever Microsoft announces at its event, we'll be there to test it out.
