Google Pixel 4 5G could launch alongside 4G handset at October event

The Google Pixel 4 is almost ready, it should appear on October 15, and although we expect Pixel 4 and XL 4, there could also be a third phone on the cards – the Google Pixel 4 5G.

According to an industry source, Google is testing a 5G mobile phone, which will be showcased at the event on October 15, along with the two new phones, a smartwatch and a notebook, according to Japanese news website Nikkei Asian Review.

While the smartwatch and notebook are big novelties in their own right, the 5G phone is truly mesmerizing – alongside Apple, Google is one of the few companies that have not yet entered the 5G race, though it may be soon.

Just a test?

According to the sources, Google Pixel 4 5G is in the test production, while the 4G handsets are in full production. This means that the next device version may not be released simultaneously with major versions of Pixel 4 and 4XL.

At the moment this is just a leak and will by no means be confirmed – but Nikkei already has a few things in store that have recently predicted the Nintendo Switch Lite.

If other manufacturers' precedents are taken into account, the Google Pixel 4 5G could be almost identical to the Pixel 4 XL, but with the next generation of connectivity – a tactic that Oppo, Samsung, and Huawei are upgrading to 5G high-end phones.

However, we also heard a rumor that the device will be Google Pixel 4 XL 5G and will be more powerful than the other devices. That's a bit of a tongue twister though.
